Title: The draft law project to set general elections date in kurdistan region- Iraq
Summary:

The democratization process requires general elections to be conducted on time, hence specifying the 8th of April as a fixed date to conduct the provincial elections, city councils elections, and local councils elections of towns and villages, is going back to that important decision taken on 8th of April 1991 by the Kurdistan United Front, which consequently led to the law number one of 1992 of Kurdistan parliament election and as a result, the first parliamentary election was conducted. Furthermore, setting the date 4th of July for the parliamentary and presidential election during election year goes back to 4th of July 1992 whence the first Kurdistan regional government was announced.
For the purpose of a better and inclusive democracy in the Kurdistan region, where citizens can elect their representatives for parliament, provincial council, cities, towns and villages' councils, this law has been issued.
