Title: Resolution to the Political Crisis in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region

Solving the current political crisis in the Kurdistan region can be seen as an opportunity to set the milestone of a democratic system in the Kurdistan region, where people’s votes are respected through accounting for consequences of general elections and embodying the votes as a right in elected institutions.

It’s not a secret that resolving this situation requires daring initiatives from major political parties of the Kurdistan region. Lack of such initiatives, under any pretext, locks the region under a multi-pronged deadlock of political, administrative, financial and social nature. The damage falls upon the ordinary citizens of the region and the dignity of its national issue.
The political map of the Kurdistan region has witnessed some changes, and made it easy to the Gorran Movement to initiate changing their parliamentary speakership through legal procedures, and replace him to another member of their parliamentary bloc, or a member of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s bloc, in order to alter the current political map and distribute the presidency positions (parliamentary speaker, president, prime minister) anew.
Concerning realizing such solution, which facilitates for modifying all the laws which underline the governance system in the Kurdistan region, especially the modified law number 1 of 2005 of the presidency of Kurdistan region? It also becomes a gate towards forging a balanced and democratic constitution project in the Kurdistan region.
