Enlightenment project regarding the Election Process and the Correct Participation

Within its scope of activities, Kurdish Institute for the Elections, K.I.E. had implemented a project for enlightening the voters and introducing the polling process to the people. The project was funded by UNOPS Agency and was implemented with the partnership of the Electoral Enlightenment association. The total budget spent for the project was $27,810 and was completed within a period of 5 months.

Project Features:

It started from1st July, 2008and ended in31st Sept. 2008.

The geographical area of the project was located in Sulemay rural and urbane areas.

Women, youth and the CSOs’ representatives were targeted with 90 educational workshops. 70 of these workshops were conducted in villages, districts and sub- districts surrounding Sulemany city and 20 of them were conducted inside the city.

25-30 invitees participated in each workshop.

A questionnaire was designated by the donor and was translated by KIE for evaluating the workshop activities.

Total direct beneficiaries number was 2323, who were the workshops’ participants including women and over 18 years old young people.
